Brimstone Interviews & Postings

Interview Posted on Birthdayboy.com from summer 2001

1: Please tell the people a little bit about yourself

Well I work under the name Brimstone, and I'm one of the founders, and owners of Critical mass Pro Wrestling Corp. - Professional Wrestling School. I'm based out of Long Island, New York where I am a proud member of the New York Wrestling Connection. (Shameless Plug time!!! www.CriticalMassWrestling.com)

2: Please name your best and worst careers moments

Well, the best moment of my career thus far probably should be when I finally received the NYWC Heavyweight Title... But to be honest, the best and proudest point of my career, is being able to work my students. It is truly amazing how far our boys have come... and it is the best feeling working with the guys who we train. I've had the pleasure of breaking in some of my best such as Dickie Rodz, Maxmilyin, Monty T. Wadsworth, Black Dog Mack, Habitat (I'll have my title back soon!!!), Nuke, and John Doe. The worst part of my career, would have to be losing my belt in a screw job!!! Like I said, I'm proud of you Habitat, that doesn't mean I'm not coming for you!

3: If you could book yourself in one match anywhere, any day who would it be against, and where would it be?

I would be honored to work my trainer Gino Carusso in his WCW Super Calo gimmick in my hometown Uniondale, at the Nassau Coliseum. That would be the greatest, I respect Gino more than almost anyone, he is my mentor, and a truly incredible person as well as an unbelievable worker. Otherwise... I would enjoy working with the old school Undertaker at Madison Square Garden, he'll always be the original phenom!

4: What are your feelings on the current state of ECW?

Well, I guess ECW coming about as part of the WCW Invasion recently is a different and intriguing twist. There are a few other guys who deserve to be part of the new ECW revolution, but I'm sure their time will come.

5: If you were a wrestling G-d, and could make one thing happen involving wrestling... What would it be?

It would be a close call, first and foremost, I would have saved the life of the late, great Owen Hart. It was a sad day in the world of wrestling when we lost him... G-d rest his soul. Then, since if I'm a G-d I would be able to do more than one miracle... I would have never let what happened to Darren Drozdov happen. I feel horrible that he is now paralyzed from the neck down, he and his fiance' deserved a normal life. So that is what I would do!

6: What wrestler do you believe to be the biggest piece of wasted talent right now?

Ummm, I don't think anyone has been wasted since the demise of WCW, although I guess recently I would say either Tazz, or Raven. I was never really huge into the history knowledge of ECW, but I do know both competitors deserve more... Maybe with the new ECW/WCW merger, things will start to pick up for them. I guess other than that, it would be great to see Foley, and Shawn Michaels in the ring again, that is a huge waste, too bad they are out. And last but not least, it would have been nice to see older WCW guys make the way to the WWF like Sting, Goldberg, Steiner, and Vampiro.

7: What do you consider to be the worst thing a wrestler could ever do?

I have very low tolerance for people who go out of their way to hurt people. I have seen that WAY too many times in my travels. You have to remember, the other guy has a family, and mouths to feed as well, he or she works hard, and to go out to the squared circle with intent to hurt someone is just wrong. Very unprofessional. Hope that makes sense!

8: What do you think of Hulk Hogan's new Federation, WXO, WOW, and XPW? Which one do you believe will make the most noise in the future? Any other feds you think will make noise?

I haven't seen much from those fed's except WOW, and XPW. They are both good for their core audiences. Another great fed is CZW, very old school ECW for the hardcore fans. And Tenta's fed in Florida is pretty good from what Calo tells me. I hope that the NYWC will soon breakout as a major indie if not more... We will have to see what happens in the future!

9: If you had to have a tag team partner and you were promised the tag belts, who would you choose?

I would choose "MY" tag team partner Mayhem. We can communicate in the ring like nobody's business... Hahahaha... I love the fluidity when we work a tag... I wish we spent more time tagging up in the NYWC, but we have both had our singles success to enjoy. I'm sure we'll be causing chaos in the near NYWC future!

10: What advice do you have for anyone aspiring to be a wrestler?

Make sure you find the right school to attend, and check out every one. Speak to as many guys attending the school as possible, see if they are happy. Be safe, take your time, and have fun with it! Wrestling may not be for everyone, but NEVER let ANYONE hold you down from your dreams, and aspirations!

11: How do you feel about WCW and WWF becoming one?

In one sense, it's a monopoly, and the workers may suffer. In another sense, it is one of the best things that could have happened for the industry... weed out the excess baggage, and give some new blood a shot at the big time.

12: Anything else you would like to add?

Hope to see you all supporting your local Indies... If you have any questions, or need advice about anything wrestling related, feel free to contact me.
